Govt peace committee enjoys full authority: Pm

LAHORE :February 08-2014 ( www.pmln.com.pk):.PM Nawaz Sharif said that the committee setup to hold peace talks with Taliban had complete authority, adding that the dialogue process was moving in right direction.Addressing the media after attending the 37th Export Trophy Awards ceremony in Lahore, PM Sharif said both the committees were in contact and the peace talks were moving forward in right direction.PM asserted that the nation was also taken into confidence before holding peace talks..Nawaz Sharif has said the government will fully support and facilitate the private sector to play its effective role in strengthening national economy.Nawaz Sharif has said the government will fully support and facilitate the private sector to play its effective role in strengthening national economy.He said the nationalization of industries in 1970s was a major setback‚ as this step had badly damaged country’s economy.Nawaz Sharif said during his previous tenures‚ banks were privatized and they are now running successfullyHe said that challenges being faced by the country‚ including terrorism and extremism‚ are due to our faulty policies. He said that all segments of society should move forward with unity to resolve problems like economy‚ terrorism and law and order situation. He said the government is working day and night to overcome these problems.
The Prime Minister said during his recent visit to the United States‚ he had clearly conveyed to US officials that Pakistan only wants trade‚ not aid.He said a business advisory council will be set up which will recommend ways to boost the country’s exports and to solve problems facing the business community. The PM said he will personally attend meetings of this council to know the problems directly,The Prime Minister said Commerce Minister Khurram Dastgir has been given a target of doubling the country’s exports.
He said the issue of energy shortage is affecting the national economy. He said that resolving of this crisis will take time and the government is taking all-out steps in this regard.He said work on various mega and small power projects is in progress in different parts of the country.
He said the Lahore-Karachi Motorway project will be completed during the tenure of his government

PM MEETS H.R.H. PRINCE SULTAN BIN SALMAN
Islamabad: February 07-2014 ( www.pmln.com.pk):.Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have always stood by each other in testing times and the people of Pakistan deeply value relations with the Kingdom. He said this while meeting H.R.H. Prince Sultan Bin Salman, Minister for Tourism and Antiquities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia who called on the Prime Minister at Government House Murree today. The meeting was also attended by Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Mr. Tariq Fatemi, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Aviation Capt. Shujaat Azim and Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Abdul Aziz bin Ibrahim bin Salih Al-Ghadeer.While discussing the tourism sector of Pakistan, the Prime Minister said that Pakistan offers great opportunities for tourists and in this regard Pakistan and Saudi Arabia can share experiences. He extended an invitation to H.R.H. Prince Sultan Bin Salman for a detailed visit to Pakistan in order to visit various tourist locations.Prime Minister also conveyed, on his own behalf as well as on behalf of the people of Pakistan, prayers and good wishes for the good health and long life of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, High Highness King Abdullah, and for the progress and prosperity of the people of the Kingdom.After the meeting, Prime Minister hosted a lunch in honour of the visiting dignitary and his delegation.Earlier, the Prime Minister along with H.R.H. Prince Sultan Bin Salman inaugurated the Centre for Education Research and Social Development by Sultana Foundation at Islamabad today.
TRANSPARENCY INTERNATIONAL TO HAVE OVERSIGHT OVER PM YOUTH

Islamabad: February 07-2014 ( www.pmln.com.pk):.Ms. Maryam Nawaz Chairperson PM Youth Program has said that Transparency International will be associated in all procurements of PM youth program to ensure transparency. She said this while reviewing the progress of the Youth Scheme. She added that this decision has been taken in line with the government’s policy of transparency and   to ensure effective and acceptable third party oversight of the program. She said that the concerned authorities will make sure that all relevant rules in this regard are adhered t.
